It's as if not a single person has taken a look at the FCP timeline for the last eight years. The last four releases have all been almost exactly two years apart from each other. FCS3 came out in 2009 and that means two years later in 2011 we will see the next iteration. You don't need a divining rod to figure out where the next version is. Pretty simple really.

As to edit systems, the beauty of the advancements that Apple, Adobe, Avid and to some extent Sony have made means that editors are no longer locked in to one system. I have premiere loaded on my system right alongside FCP. Because of the freelance nature of the business I think there are not as many "universal" truths about which app you need to use to cut your show. I would still estimate that there are many more FCP installs in use than Avid.

In the UK, under its purely municipal law, there is a presumption that retail price management agreements are against the public interest, and therefore unenforceable. The Supreme Court recognized that competition often is enhanced by matters other than price (after-sale support, strong warranty, etc.), and it may well be reasonable to require a minimum price to support an overall more competitive position.

I've got a thought...

You've probably already been slapped about this but I haven't read through all the posts...

Dude... I'm assuming you're a Christian to be so up-in-arms about the holiday (but I don't think that's the right example, honestly) -- you need to also be more tolerant of other religious holidays at the same time such as Hananachaka (butchered that) and Kwanza as well as some others, I'd imagine.


Wonder what price they will be by christmas (i bloody hate the term 'the holiday season'!!) anyone any thoughts?

Only $1148 folks. :eek: I guess somebody's gotta start somewhere. At least we know they are really almost for sale somewhere on planet Earth. :rolleyes: ;) Comes with Blu-ray version of Toast 7 Titanium.

For $1148 you can buy 4 Terabytes of Hard Drives today. That would be eighty 50GB Blu-ray discs @ $50 each would be $4,000 for the blank media to record 4 Terabytes. $1,000 per Terabyte Vs. $250 per Terabyte of HD storage. I just don't get the economics of this Blu-ray thing at all. :eek: :confused:
